Hi,

I'm new to Definity/Aura.

We have the embedded Messaging solution and I was wondering if there is any way to get reports out of it.

I see the audix connection setup in ASA but have no idea what connection settings to use. I have tried 22,23,5022 and 5023 but can seem to get a connection to stay open.

If I try and run a report I get command failed protocol not supported or the task could not be executed on any configured connection.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks

T.

Using ASA... newer versions for at least 3 years.
Communication Manager is port 5022
Integrated AUDIX is port 22

If you do below, you can use ASA doing it the old way...
If you go to the CM WEB administration firewall, you can activate telnet, then you will be able to use port 23

If you go to the CM SAT administration and change ip-services, you can enable SAT the old way using 5023.

Clarification of old way... is a bit misleading.
I mean to say if you have TN based circuit packs and you have CLAN, then port 5023 is used along with administering it in ip-services on the CM side.

Also, port 23 is using in the Intuity Ausix or Intuity LX voicemail.

wleong56,

thanks for the response. I am really new to this. Have been an IP office admin for years know that product upside down but I'm still getting my head round the Aura/Definity system. Our installation is pretty bang upto date and does not use the the LX version of Audix. Its is referred to by all as Communication Manager Messaging or IA770/CMM.
We are using s8300 embedded servers in the gateways.

Is it still possible to interface to this system using port 22? Do ijust need to enable the post in the CM firewall and how do i get to that?

Really appreciate the help.

Thanks

T.

I now have the connection to Audix working.
This is what was required for me;
telnet does not work but SSH seems to work.
You need to set up a new connection on ASA –
File – New – Messaging System
Give it a name and uncheck modular messaging
Network Connection
Enter IP address n.n.n.n
Ensure ‘use SSH’ is ticked
Leave timeouts unchanged
Select ‘I want Avaya to log me in automatically’
Login = uid Password = pwd
Click next until finished.

Now I just need to understand the report outputs. Anyone know where the documentation for the output files is?

Thanks
T.

Thanks,
