ATA2 and an Answer DN

I put an ATA2 on a 8x24 DR5 for a cordless. It rings fine if you ring that extension (x420).

I added an Answer DN for the director's extension on the ATA2's extension. Other phones that use the director's extension (x401) as an answer DN ring just fine.

Is there a limit for how many extensions can use the a DN as an answer DN?

I figured I'd reset the system this afternoon to see if that helps. Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

ATA cannot have an answer DN

Trick is to swap the 2 DN's and have the answer dn on the desk set however you have other sets involved so there is no fix for you in my opinion.

No, but as I recall, ans dn doesn't work on an ATA. If you need the analog device to ring with calls to a particular extension, you'll have to reverse your programming.

Change dn the ATA to the desired ans dn ext number, assign the original set an ans dn to the analog set, and change all other programmed ans dn's to the analog set. (Change DN, even on an 824 will change all related programming. Be sure to check all f*2 buttons, and vm programming. I'm sure you still want the MWI to appear on the digital set, and not the analog.)

Thank you!

I can cope with this I think. They get to the main DN via the auto-attendant menu from flash, so I don't think there will need to be any social re-working. I can swing the answer DN on the other sets too -- no worries.

Getting the MWI on the digital is a good detail to note.
