Area Code and SIP Issues

Hi All,

Hoping to find the answer here.

We have a client who uses SIP trunks provided by Gamma.

Everything works 100%

They don't however want to dial the area code when they dial out, they just want to dial the 6 digit local number.

So at the moment they have to dial 01234 123456 but they just want to dial 123456 for local numbers.

I can do this all the time on ISDN but with SIP it seems to behave differently, how to I make this work?

It's no different on SIP than ISDN, just do it in ARS as you would with ISDN but with the correct trunk group...no secret to it really

Sorry wasn't being ignorant, I was testing it out first as it still isn't working.
I have one short code in short codes for dialling 0N"@88.215.55.97"
I have set up the codes above in ARS
I don't think the system is using ARS though.
Anyway, when I run monitor I can see that the system is chopping off the leading digit, so if I type 123456 I see it is dialling 0123423456 and missing the leading 1 on the local number.

Bizarre, I am doing something wrong clearly!

Ok update, got ARS working, short code N Dial N Group 50 works to route via ARS
I can see in the monitor that the correct number is being dialled but it just says incompatible on the phone.

You don't need "@88.215.55.97" in shortcodes, not since R6 or so.

I don't think the system is using ARS though.

Only you can tell.... and you need to make it use ARS really

Your shortcode is wrong then, or it's not matching the one you think it is and that one is wrong

Finally got it sorted, thank you for your assistance.
It was the sortcode format and working with monitor and jiggling the code got it sorted.
