Announcements not playing on inbound call from ISDN trunk

Have an odd problem -

We have a service desk that utilizes a vector-driven hunt group. On an inbound call, an initial announcement is played, then the customer can keypress for routing.

Today, the initial announcement no longer plays for the inbound calls ONLY on our ISDN trunk. There is no response when dialing directly to the announcement extension.

Inbound calls on tie trunks do not display the fault, announcements play normally.

I've reset the ISDN trunk and the VAL board with no change.

Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this?

It doesn't appear to be easily traceable to either the vector (works with inbound calls on other trunks as well as internal calls) or the ISDN trunk itself (received 'wrong number' announcement from intentional misdial on ISDN trunk).

Is you announcement extension DID? can you call a DID extension that forwards to the announcement extension and listen to the announcement?

check the COR of trunk-group 3 and see if it has a restriction from talking to the announcement extension's COR.

The trace information provided appears to be worthless.

MST trace with call trace turned on would prove to be more valuable for troubleshooting this.

The trunk is not DID. Calls made directly to announcement extensions fail with dropped call.

Trunk COR is 50 (all trunks, not just ISDN trunk), and normal tie trunks can call in and access the recording. Announcement COR is 1, COR 50 can call COR 1.

Why is trace showing annc ext 003185

Hardware platform?
CM Software version?

For MST turn on DENIAL EVENTS? y VECTOR EVENTS? y CALL TRACE? y VECTORS? y

Make a very simple VDN -> vector -> route to announcement 3185

enable mst call trace with denial events, Command: clear events

UID for trunk-group 3 = 830003

Make incoming TG 3 call to simple VDN

Time corresponds roughly to a couple of test calls from this morning, have made several other (failed) test calls throughout the day without denial events.

The announcement 8 (call cannot be completed) may have been during a deliberate test call to a bad number to see if any announcements could be heard - the timestamp matches (roughly) with when I was doing a couple test calls this morning.

I get fast busy on all the COR 51 announcements (accessing via announcement feature and selecting playback). "Normal" call to those extensions return error tone.

COR 1 announcements can be directly dialed.

Is there any other way I can check?

I'm an idiot.

Vector line 1 was "wait-time 0 seconds hearing silence". Saw a recommendation to have a 2 second wait so that vector processes could start.

Changed line 1 to "wait-time 2 seconds hearing silence" and now get the announcement.

New issue: Switch doesn't recognize DTMF input from the ISDN trunk.... *sigh*

I'll change that and re-test once the trunk is clear - there are lines in use at the moment.

A correction to my earlier... *some* DTMF tones aren't coming through. The vector has options 1-3. 1 and 2 can be selected from a cell call via the ISDN trunk, 3 cannot. All 3 can be accessed via inbound calls from our other trunks.
