I guess I'll start here and if this is the wrong place, I'll move on up.
Windows XP Pro, SP1 (yeah, yeah, I know), with full admin rights.
Networked.
Connecting to an HP 8100.
Prints fine.
Unable to add new port or delete the existing port as well as configure the port.
I've removed the only suspicious software package I thought might be the cause of it.
User rebooted to make sure it cleared everything.
Checked network devices to make sure they weren't blocking the request for some reason. Nothing found.
Googled and nothing remotely what resembles this error.
Used to work without problem.
Sorry for the random streams, I wanted to make sure I had everything. :/
For my question, I'm correct in thinking that when you go to add a standard tcp/ip port, XP does not go out on the network until you actually type in the IP address, correct? The user attempted to add another port but was immediately told by XP she didn't have access. The sooner I can get an answer the better. I know, I can't demand an answer (and I'm not), but the sooner I can get this resolved, the better.
Thanks.
