Hey,

I have "Music On Hold" setup here. This works find, for regular "On-Hold" calls, BUT

If you're on a conference call, and you want to place the attendants on hold w/out hearing the music... any suggestions.

Since I think music on hold is an ALL or Nothing option, I don't think you can just turn it off, but as an alternative, I'm looking in to using MUTE.

Any suggestions? If you think MUTE may work, then is there a way to program in a MUTE key (I don't like the MUTE/SPEAKER option) that's on the 2000 sets

I had the same problem, if I put my set on hold and the other attendees were still talking they got music. I replaced my Ao6 key with NHC and they don't get music.

I never put MOH on switches at our engineering offices for that very reason. They are constantly on conf calls. I have heard of a box that generates an occassional beep, which would be acceptable but I can't find a brand name.

I hear you Arch,
I'm w/ a major NBA organization and my MOH plays announcements and points the caller to other exts to buy stuff.

Works great for a customer type call, but the majority of my business callers are annoyed w/ this.

This stands for: No Hold Conference

Meaning, other party is not placed on hold while adding conferees. You can also use this same key to disconnect the conferee.

If you are not adding to the conference call but you need to leave the conversation, then mute is just about your only option.

Here is a suggestion for you Nortel switch engineers ut there. Create a software option where: When the set or trunk is connected to a conference circuit, MOH is removed in all states. OK...I will be waiting on the new option announcement.

you'll see a check in the mail, way before they add the feature.. (don't quit you're day job, just yet)
