Adding stations in Definity Switch 1

What is the best way to add a large number of stations using Avaya Site Administration?

I want to add approximately 300 stations at once, if possible.

Create a station template then use the import functionatlity of ASA.

You can simultaneously create the voicemail boxes too. We just opened up a new office and I created about 50 extensions and voicemail boxes in about 10 minutes with minimal clicking or typing. Let me know if you need some help and I can walk you through it.

Sure if you could tell me how you added the extensions, that would be great. I tried setting up a template and importing the stations but the error I get is button type does not meet min or max requirements. I created the template from an existing station.

Check out the buttons on the station you created the template from. Some buttons have a maximum number of instances that can exist in a single switch. For example, you are only allowed 10 crisis-alert buttons.

did you know the duplicate station command? try it, it's lovely.

Thanks dwalin, yes I know the dup sta command, I was hoping to do the whole thing at once. The dup sta command only allows for 16 entries.

go to the advanced tab in asa and klick on the import data
and ther follow the instructions .
