Is there any way to add a DASH [ - ] to caller ID numbers? For example we have 10 digit dialing and all the numbers together makes it very hard to read the numbers for redial and even to jot them down and to avoid mistakes. 3032438765 is easier to read this way 303-243-8765. Can I have the IPO add a dash automatically or set up a digit format that lets me display numbers on the handsets with a dash inserted? In our Directory we add the dashes so we can easily see the numbers being dialed.

I remember the old Partner system use to add the dash automatically for inbound caller ID.

That's a great question, and not one that I've seen come up, but I can understand why. Honestly the only way I can think of doing it is to do digit manipulation in voicemail pro first, and transfer the call with the new CLID as a source; would get tricky for DID numbers. I browsed through the 46xx settings file and didn't see anything.

that is why the handsets have the option to dial from the call history log.
no need to copy & dial manualy

I believe you don not understand. Trying to read the numbers so that a number may be written down to give to someone or make a note of it or to retype it into an email or text message or to read it back to someone standing at the desk or to read the number to someone over the phone etc, etc.. It does make sense to anyone who has to use it for other than a redail. When you have many calls in the log and they all come from the same are code and prefix it makes a lot of sense.

If you're using vmpro, this can be done, but it takes some doing. I guess it could be done with DID's as well, as long as you have some nice DID's that match user extensions.
You'd have to get creative with it.
I did it for sh*ts and giggles on my system and it works fine. I don't think I would want to deploy it to a customer though.
