I am running Windows 98 (First Edition) with a Kensington Orbit Trackball mouse.
Recently, the active window becomes inactive whenever I move the mouse away from it. This happens regardless of the application being used. For example, if I am in Word or writing an email and the mouse moves away from that window I cannot type again until I move the mouse back to the window somewhere. When more than one window is open, moving the mouse will change the active window also.
I have followed the Kensington instructions for installing/uninstalling & updating the mouse/software. I've also completely removed it all and connected various standard two-button ps/2 mice using the standard mouse driver and the issue remains.
I don't know of any changes made to the system recently.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to correct it?
