I wasn't exactly sure what to search for since I don't much experience with Nortel ACD either on the switch or in VM.

I have a main number which is built out as an ACDN that when people call it, they should be able to enter an extention for the person but instead it prompts the caller for a password for the menu they want to access. I dont have access to my switch info rohgt now but i just have to go to the switch room to get it.

I thought maybe if there were some suggestions as to where to begin my search. thank you all in advance!

sounds like it is pointing to VM number instead of express messaging, if you mean they can enter a number to leave a message. Do you mean that? Or are threy checking their own messages?

from what I can tell, they hav taken a DID and set it up as an ACDN. There are only a certain number of users that have a DID(6600-6699 from local telco and the rest get switch numbers)number assignment and the rest are just regular non-DID numbers. if someone were to call the main number(DID), they should get the message to enter the extention of the person they wish to speak to. that is for all the non-DID users otherwise the rest can be directly dialed from the outside.

i now have another issue though. cant get into my terminal. there is an nvr error on the screen, VT520 connected via the SEB on host 1. that will be another post i think...

what is the exact message you get from the call pilot chick, when you dial that number.

call pilot or mermail? sounds like a mermail problem... pullup the menu service and remove the 1st pwd prompt.. a pwd there is inbound pwd, the second pwd on the screen it is used to record the prompts...

thanks for the start guys. I have mermail 8 in there right now.
is this an easy mistake to make if you were trying to update the routing? There were not many hands involved in this switch\vm for quite sometime other than blackbox and maybe one other tech.

thanks!

now if i can only get back into the terminal... lol
