Hi all....

My customer has just taken delivery of 20 new 9620s... When plugged in, they boot, get DHCP, and then fail to contact the HTTP server for firmware....

If I address them manually, they boot, get their firmware, and upgrade... they appear to only get one file from the server (the IPO).

If I now reset the phones - clear values - and reboot, the phones get DHCP, jump to the correct VLAN, get DHCP again, successfully contact the server for files (which they obvioulsy don't need now), and work properly!

It kinda looks like the firmware they ship with is using the wrong SSON, or something....

It's not a big issue as it only takes a few minutes per phone, but I would like to understand what's going on!

Any thoughts??????

Matt

It looks like a network issue but if you can check the phone when it boots then you will know if you are right.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I don't see how it's a network issue - the phones behave perfectly when upgraded, and other phones work properly when first plugged in... I deployed 3 1616's recently without this problem......

With network issue i mean that the DHCP server is not providing the right info the first time.
