46XX phones and IP400 Digital Station

I have an IP400 Digital Station that I want to use 46XX phones on. Is that possible? Do I need a control unit?

No it is not possible to use a 46XX series phone on an IP400 digital station expansion unit. Never!

Yes you do need a control unit. Always

You will also need a VCM card for the control unit. You will probably need a trunk card too.

Do you mean 4400 series phones? The 4600 series is an IP Phone, you would plug those into your network either to a PoE (Power Over Ethernet) switch or to a regular switch and use PoE injectors to power the phones.

Ok so I can use an IP412 Office? I have one with a 30 port VCM inside. Would I still use a Power over ethernet mod lik an 1152A1? I want to log into the IP412 with my laptop and configure it but I don't have instructions.

I found a manual that explains initial setup. I think I will be able to get basics going but I will need the software to put on my laptop to administer it. I hope that the passwords are default. I have the 1152 and the IP412 which is version 1. What else would I need to run 46XX phones?

Version 1 is more then 5 years old
You need a BP to set this thing up for you !
It is always the same story when some one without knowledge can not get it running properly,then the ipo is a bad system !
I do not hesitate about your skills but it just happens
