412 and a 800 in same box

Hello All I know what the 412 board does but what is the 800 board do does it connect into the 412 board ?

Cards are numbered by the number of outside lines that they provide, followed by the number of internal extensions.

So a 412 card is 4 lines and 12 extensions. The 412 should be followed by TDL, which are the single-pair 4400-type extensions used in a Merlin Magix.

An 800 is 8 lines, no extensions. The 800 should be followed by GS/LS-ID for Ground Start/Loop Start-Caller ID Capable. It could also be followed by DID, which are analog Direct Inward Dial trunks.

All cards go into the slots of the carrier, and the processor takes care of "connecting" everything together.

thank you for the information !! I have a few more questions, I have 3 - 4412d+ phones when I hook them up the display show the time and date but then it shows invalid 44xx dlc, is the not working or what? also I have a 4424dl+ that works but the display does not work Is the power supply bad? Help Thanks in advance !

For the 4424LD+, make sure that the cables are not backwards at the power supply. Also verify that the outlet is alive. Other than that, you could be looking at a bad power supply, a bad cable between the power supply and the phone, or, a failed VFD.

For the 4412D+, I have not seen that error message before. So a few general questions: Did those three phones ever work? Was there a change made recently and the error message then appeared? Are the three phones connected to channels in the 1-12 range on the card (remembering that the 412 only supports 12 phones despite using a 25 pair cable to connect to it).

I think you'll see that error message if a port is assigned as an operator. It's expecting to see a 4424DL.

Exactly - Operator positions can only be 4424L[/b}D+ sets. You need to go into programming and delete those operator positions if you don't need them or don't have the correct sets for them. You CAN'T delete the first Operator position, that must remain as a 4424LD+

got it NOW THA ALL FOR THE HELP !!NK YOUI have the phones all hooked up I cant get the voicemail to answer when I call it dialing 770 also WHAT IS THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN PBX/KEY ETC I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO SET OUR OFFICE UP AS.. I HAVE 4 TRUNK LINES AND 4 STATIONS WHAT I WANT TO DO IS HAVE MY PERSON ANSWER INCOMMING CALLS AND BE ABLE TO TRANSFER THE CALL TO A STATION IF NO ANSWER IT WILL AUTO MATICLY GOTO VOICEMAIL WHEN THAT PERSON COMES IN THAY CAN GET THERE MESSAGES,, ALSO I HAVE MUSIC ON HOLD I DONT KNOW WHERE TO HOOK THAT UP. There is a Feature Code you can assign to a free button on the 4412 sets to auto dial the voice mail system. Do you have a copy of the Magix Feature Guide on hand? If not, go a free copy can be downloaded from Avaya's website.

Now, setting up the system in Key Mode will allow all four lines to appear on all sets. PBX Mode pools the lines and a pool button is normally placed on the sets. The Magix would select which line to use to call out on.

With such a small set up, Key Mode seems to be the way to go. This also assumes that the processor is already set up in Key Mode.

ok I will set the system for key mode and I will try 7929 for the voicemail. fyi I am upgrading from a com??? 1040 and this merlin system is so different that my mind boggled with trying to get this new merlin magix system and fading out the old 1040 WWITH OUT ANY DOWN TIME .. In a earlier post, you mentioned that the Magix is a replacement for a 1040 (or is it a 1030)?. The Magix is an entirely different animal. The classic Merlin telephone systems were fairly simple devices. The Legend and Magix are much more complex as they are designed to handle so many different situations.

With only 4 lines and 4 extensions, the Avaya Partner ACS appears to be a better fit. An R8 processor mated with a Partner Voice Messaging (Large) will handle 5 lines, 9 extensions, provide a basic auto attendant and 12+ voicemail boxes. If special auto attendant/voicemail features are required, you could use the R8 processor and an Avaya Partner Messaging (R7) and a 5 module carrier to allow for possible expansion.

The Partner ACS is easier to program than a Legend/Magix but still offers quite an impressive list of features for the Small Business Market.

If the system does not recognize the 800 module, you would need to execute a board renumber. This will cause the processor to look out, take inventory of what cards are in the carrier and get them ready for programming.

I see that TTT explained how to default the processor. This will be a first step in working with the Magix.

My guess is that perhaps your 4424LD+ was not connected to the 1st station port. The system programming phone can be designated to be on any of the first 5 ports. When you defaulted the processor, it moved the system programming phone back to logical id #01. Move your phone there, and change the programming phone to where you want it to be, and then move the phone back after that.

BUT I NEED SOME INFORMATION ON THE MOH I HAVE A MOH ADAPTOR PART # KS-23395L3 I AM CONFUSED ON THE HOOK UP......DOES THE MOH OUT GO INTO A MOD JACK VIA RJ11 CORD THEN THE MOD RJ11 JACK WIRE TERMINALS CONNECT TO THE 25PIN AND CONNECT TO STATION 6,7 OR ETC, WOULD THAT BE THE CORRECT CONNECTION?..
