There is, but its not readily available. You have to hire MS Consulting to come out and do it for you. Really all it entails is using a tool to edit mdbsz.dll but again this tool is not public.- marcn29

Outlook 2003 cannout connect to Exch 5.5 over VPN
In fact there was a protocol change in OL2003 that would cause this. Previous versions of outlook supported named pipes and socket connections, Outlook 2003 only supports sockets.
