We already have an Exchange 2003 server deployed, but with problems. We need to move Exchange 2003 to a new box.
I installed Exchange 2003 on a Windows server 2003 box.
Before the install I had to setup ASP.net, SMTP, DNS, etc...
The problem I am having now is the new Exchange 2003 server does...
Have a look at the check box on the Default SMTP Virtual Server Properties page. I think we had checked Requires TLS encryption and had a problem until we un-checked it.

Nine times out of ten it is a DNS problem. I'll try to get more specific info on what we did to correct the issue. As I recall it was a very minor fix.

Look at the event log and find out why it's crashing then take the necessary steps to address those issues.
Exchange is superb software when everything is working properly.

We just experienced a 13 minute message delay between being submitted to the categorizer and local delivery.
This was for an internal office email.
The server is a brand new Dell PowerEdge P4 with 1gb RAM and LVD320 SCSI drives running Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000 (no other software...
Yes we are adding another Exchange 2000 server.
We created a new account in Active Directory and homed that mailbox to the new server. That test account is able to SEND mail, but cannot receive mail (internally nor from Internet). Message tracking shows that email sent to this new test account...
We just got a new W2k server and installed Exchange 2000 on it. We would like to move all of our users to the new server. The first (test) mailbox we moved was able to send email, but could not receive email (internally or from Internet).
How do we migrate to the new Exchange server?
Thanks...
Yeah I'd just add the new E2k server to the existing domain. When we added one to our domain and migrated the Exchange 5.5 mailboxes over I found a very helpful little guide on Microsoft's site called "The milk company"...
Yes they can, but I believe that ability is disabled by default in Exchange 2000. They would have to grant themselves full read / write permissions first.

You can try the GFI software free for 60 days. After the 60 days the blacklist feature will continue to work. We have about 60 users and block 1500 SPAMs a week with just the RTBL option! Try GFI and see if it suits your needs.
Its great because it will automatically whitelist any addresses the...
This weekend we ran ISINTEG on our exchange server. Since then we have multiple MSExchangeFBPublish errors in the event log with the following information:
"Unable to prepare message table for polling thread processing on virtual machine [server]. The error number is 0x80004005. Make sure...
I have suspected database corruption because of the Jet error...

We have a (secondary) Domain controller that has been generating the following errors in Event log every couple of hours:
The description for Event ID ( 1014 ) in Source ( DhcpServer ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to...
You may need to install "open file option"
(or atleast ensure that the related applications are closed prior to the backup running). Try logging off (or shutting down) all workstations before the backup runs.

does it happen in SAFEMODE? is it confined to a particular prg or any prg?
almost sounds like someone logged into your computer... you have an "always on" internet connection?

try a different screensaver or uninstall / reinstall screensavers via add / remove programs.
also check to see if the problem persists in SAFEMODE. if no prob in SAFEMODE then you may have software that loads at startup causing an issue.
also, a thorough virus scan would be a good idea for safe...
Check the services running on the servers in question. If you have the "Backup Exec Remote Agent for..." service running on them then the agents are installed.
To backup those servers you will need to select the files and folders on those servers you'd like to back up. This is done via...
