Hi,

I'm running Windows Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server in a Windows 2000 Advance Server invironment. My question is, can an Exchange Administrator go into a persons mailbox and read there mail?

I'm working on securing our environment and I would appreciate your assiatance.

Thank you,

Tony

Yes the admin can do that, although it is is most countries considered as a breach of privacy and thus against the law!
I don't see how reading other's email add to securing an environment?

So, you better have a very good reason to do that, and if it is a request from management, protect yourself by pointing that out to them and have them request it in written or at least an email.

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Yes they can, but I believe that ability is disabled by default in Exchange 2000. They would have to grant themselves full read / write permissions first.

Tony,
It would be nice to give some feedback once in a while.
I noticed your other threads and you never give a final ok or not.
It is considered 'polite' to at least acknowledge the answers given. If they work, a thank you for that person will not hurt you.
