Has anyone out there used the Sharepoint agent with BE 10? I would like for someone to tell me that it works before I purchase it. Also, Is there another way that I can backup the sharepoint databases without an agent, barring taking it offline and backing it up cold.
Thanks in advance for...
How in the world do you restore files from the NETLOGON share contained on Domain Controllers. Backup Exec uses active file exclusion, therefore it does not allow for direct backup of the NETLOGON share off of servers. It really sucks that you would have to restore the system state and risk of...
Or if Justin's suggestion doesn't fix it. Just create a seperate appendable job that backs up half of Drive H:. Leave the other half of H: on the original job. This error is misreported by BE, your cache file is running out of drive space "MAYBE".
Do these 11 jobs run every day? If 9 of 11 jobs overwrite media then only 2 jobs can write to multiple tapes. Give us the rest of the details on your backup jobs.
I do really appreciate the help but I must point out again.
1. Build the OS and SP level.
2. install backup agent.
3. restore all server data.
4. before rebooting remove all drivers.
Step 4 will be performed before rebooting the server right! If you remove the drivers before rebooting then you...
Thanks for the reply,
I have 2 servers to restore, one is NT4 sp6a and the other is 2003 Standard edition to restore. The NT 4 box has oracle. and the 2003 box is a Domain Controller in a AD forest. Your reply makes sense but how to remove drivers for an OS that you are not booted into...
Hello Everyone,
I have been given the task of doing a Disaster Recovery scenario for a company. I have to do a Disaster Recovery of a Compaq Proliant 6000 server to a Dell Poweredge server. A Disaster recovery to a server of the same class and Raid Controller is easy. But if you change...
I am willing to bet you are using the Open File Agent on these servers. Anyway, Whenever I recieve this error message I have to split the backup job into 2 pieces. Put 50% of the original job in one script, and 50% in another. This always fixes my problems. I think that you are probably...

Set the job to append and oberwrite if no appendable media can be found instead of append and cancel if none can be found. The 2nd tape is probably Overwriteable but not appendable.
I figure if someone could make a Acrobat reader plugin then BE was possible.
Justin, I figure you could boot into the restored configuration without the system state restored. Then after it boot just dump it down.
Wouldn't it be so cool if someone could create a BE agent Plugin for Windows PE! We would no longer need to install windows at all to recover a server. There would be no need for the Disaster wizards anymore! I have looked all over for the plugin but cannot find it anywhere. I have seen...
I have found that most access is denied error messages are caused by believe it or not "Free space on the volume that is getting backed up". Try freeing up some more space or use the OFO wizard and direct the ofo cache to a volume on the server that has more free space. Also you...
HELP!!!
I really need to know how to get my backup scripts copied to another location. Can I export these or do I need to use the command line. I would hate to have to re-create my jobs if I had a failure on one of my backup boxes.
Thnx,
Thanks for the help guys. I think we found a routing problem where pings from outside the network were going to the internet instead of back inside. I will fill you in on it when we get it figured out. Thanks for breaking it down Qdog. Between you and Justin 2000 I know I at least had BE...
Someone might have turned off hardware compression on the backup jobs. Check the general tab in your job setup tab and verify that hardware compression is turned on.
