    OWA 2K in DMZ

Hello all, (sorry this may be a bit long) I have setup two exchange servers in domain as FE/BE config (both SP2). I want to put the FE in a newly created DMZ that is on a seperate IP network as normal. I configured the firewall to open required ports (too many I may add) from the DMZ to my two...

    Sites and Subnets?

Hello anyone. I am setting up a DMZ hanging off my firewall with a seperate network/subnet etc. I have created a new subnet in AD Sites and Services and assigned this DMZ subnet to my London site that also has my internal subnet assigned to it. But when I change the servers IP address details...

Hello, Call me stupid but im trying to give 2000 file permissions to a directory/files, and only want to give this specific user/group write permission with the ability to overwrite any existing files. I do not want that group to be able to read the contents of the directory etc. Please put me...

    Mailbox Celanup Agent with E2K

Thanks Dan, that worked well. Dan, do you know or know where I can find more information on setting up workflow with the Web Storage System/WebDAV? My boss wants to implement Notes purely for its storage/document library system. I said that E2K can do this, which I am sure it can, but just...

    OWA and Attachments

Hi DAn, No, Outlook clients are not noticably slow on the back end. The CPU usage is fine. It just seems that when I had the 5.5 version of OWA (seperate server)running with the E2K back end, this was not slow. After I upgraded the front-end, it is now slower. Do you know the main useful...

    OWA and Attachments

Hello, No the same thing happens wether they access the front end or back end OWA. They have an older version of IE (V5.0) but this should be OK according to the manuals. I will try and play with the clients versions etc, but with 150 shops over ISDN, this is not easy even with landesk etc. Do...

    OWA 5.5 and Exchange 2K

    OWA 5.5 and Exchange 2K

Hello!! I have Exchange 2K working fine within my organisation that was upgraded from 5.5. I also had a 5.5 server running OWA running within this organisation that I did not upgrade for a while. I then upgraded this OWA machine, this now works as a front-end server, but seems slower and is...

    OWA and Attachments

Just another bit of information. It is not down to permissions either. If I access OWA from the shop PC under my account, it does the same thing in my mailbox. And I am a Domain and Exchange Admin. THanks!!!

    OWA and Attachments

What do you mean what all configuration? Basic authentication is the only one checked. The same thing happens when I access OWA via the Exchange server itself. I just dont understand that it lets them log into their mailbox OK, but want further authentication in a different form when opening up...

    OWA and Attachments

Hi, I have a E2K box setup as a front-end server with no stores etc. Users within the domain can logon to this for OWA and logon fine and also easily open attachments within messages. I have basic authentication setup with the domain set. We also have shops that connect to us via ISDN to access...

    Full Mailbox Access

Is there a way of giving Exchange Admins Full Mailbox Access rights to all mailboxes at once? At the moment I just give my Exchange Admin Group access ona per mailbox basis when required. I would like to do this for all instead of one-by-one. I dont think you can do this by a recipient policy...

    E2K on a Domain Controller

I already have three DC's within my domain. Also having more than one GC server will not cause problems if I bring down one DC. That is the whole point of having multiple DC's. the reason I ask this question is that I have read different views on making a E2K server a DC. Thanks!!

    E2K on a Domain Controller

Hello, I have Exchange 2000 installed on a member server in my AD domain. Apart from the obvious additional load that making this server a DC, is it a good idea to make the server a DC? I gather this would make disaster recovery a little easier and improve directory lookups if it was a GC...
