Hello!!

I have Exchange 2K working fine within my organisation that was upgraded from 5.5. I also had a 5.5 server running OWA running within this organisation that I did not upgrade for a while. I then upgraded this OWA machine, this now works as a front-end server, but seems slower and is causing more problems. I want to put in a 5.5 OWA server back into this now E2K site but upon install and setting server name and site to join, I get MAPI errors. This E2K site/organisaton is in mixed mode and not native.

Does anyone know of any reason why I cannot install a Exchange 5.5 owa server into an E2K organisation?

Thanks!

More information: I have also just tried to install a Exchange 5.5 server to join my Exchange 2K organisation/site, which failed with a similiar error. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought 5.5 and E2K coexisted OK in mixed-mode.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I don't think that adding a 5.5 server to a 2000 site is supported. But I would imagine that you would have to install the ADC to communicate with the new 5.5 server. I just don't think this will work. I would suggest fixing the 2000 front end server, the new version of OWA is a thousand times better.

Well if you still have an SRS then 5.5 should install. You will need to put the ADC back in.

What Service Pack is the Front-End? If it isn't SP2 get it there fast. SP2 made Front-End way easier to secure. Dan
