I've had NLB running on two identical servers for a couple of months. W2K3 with SP2 and updates. All was running fine until one of the servers was powered off for about 24 hours. When the server was powered back on it failed to rejoin NLB.
I've disolved NLB on both servers and tried to...
Thanks for the responses so far.
DCDIAG showed an error 0x00000457, but I don't think this is releated.
DNS looks fine and all non-used NIC's are disabled in both DC's.

I'm getting the error message, (shown between the dotted lines at the end of this message), every 30 day on one of our two domain controllers. The current work around is to reboot the DC, but this is not a satisfactory solution.
I've tried all the suggestions from MS and various other forums...
Hello
I've booted a BL20p G3 from a Virtual CDrom, (on my local PC), as I have no access to the physical server. The server boots fine, but the mouse on the server is not active while Virtual Media is connected. As soon as it's disconnected it works fine.
This is a problem as I've booted...
Not sure why as I didn't look in to it after I realised it was related to network drives.
I'm no expert, but I'm assuming it has to enumerate the drives when a File -> New is initiated. So, if there are issues with, say, DNS or cluster/NLB it may not be able to connect them at that time...
Hello
I need some advice on restoring the Default Domain Controller Policy. I've read how to restore the policy with 'dcgpofix' as it was after the dcpromo finished, but I'd like some ideas as to what to expect from my senario.
The policy has been renamed and unlinked. Not sure why as I've...
Hello
I have an IBM ThinkPad T43 connected to a docking stating, which has DVI output amongst other connections. Each of my four machines is connected to a Avocent DVI switch, with DVI cables.
My problem is with the laptop as it rarely recognises the external display. When the lid is shut it...
I've configured an AD GPO to prevent users from navigating to UNC paths in Explorer, which works fine, but it allows them to navigate to UNC paths from Office Applications.
I think it's using a different dialogue box in Office, but is there a to stop users accessing UNC paths from Office Apps...
Hello
Does anyone know how to disable the 'click to activate' function in IE6 via the registry?
My server is a w2k3 Enterprise edition with SP2. According to some articles I've read it should be disable in SP2 after being enabled in SP1.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Hello
Configuration = W2K3 serviers and CPS4
There are a number of user and computer policies that run against an OU with Citrix servers in it. These work fine and all applications run ok. The servers are W2K3 Enterprise WITHOUT any SP due to various reason I won't go in to.
I want to be on...
Hello
I have enabled NLB on two servers as per the implementation instructions on the Microsoft WEB site. All works ok initially, but after a couple of hours one side of the NLB is not accessible on the network for about 10 minutes. This is repeated randomly. The server has not rebooted...
Hello
I've set up some persistent routes on two servers, but have had some strange performance issues. I removed the persistent routes and the following error was displayed, "No matching active route was found. A matching persistent route was deleted".
I added the same route back in and...
Managed to fix it. It turns out that it wasn't specific to the Recent folders. The GPO hade the policy option "Remove My Documents icon on the desktop" enabled which, removes the My Documents icon from the desktop, from Windows Explorer, from programs that use the Windows Explorer windows, and...
Hello
