the extension i am transfering to is a subscriber. it's an ia770 in a stand alone s8500c. extension is local.
the problem doesn't happen if the customer is at this desk, calls vmail, logins in, then does *t. so it is some sort of restriction in the pbx. the trace is not...

When using dialup to an LX, after logging into the web browser with sappp, and after opening messaging, then logging in with sappp, i get a "could not change to home directory" error message and can't procede.

all the above docs refer to pre-rel CM4. the problem is that when the server tries to connect to the pbx, I get an error that the BCMR login I made with prof18, doesn't have the right permissions. the docs all refer to CM3 or below. not any help with the new way to add logins with R4

Prologix where availble with two offers, A and B. not ever circuit pack that worked in B worked in A. it sounds like you had a B, but maybe when you loaded license file for additional RTU, changed it to A.
i think you would be able to do this two ways, neither simple.
1) use smnp traps on the LAN to monitor alarms. Have that program that monitors the LAN outcall.
2) use the contact closure on the IPSI cables. connect them to some 3rd party device that would outcall when contacts are closed.
