Hi bcastner,
I've also read the same link you had inserted. But thank you.
I thought if I had logged in to the PC in question with an Administrator account, then copying the entire folder would be same, if not, better than doing it via the System Properties. No? At least I know I CAN...
I have a scenario.
We are replacing PCs for a bunch of users.
They are all using LOCAL PROFILES.
Question: Is there a difference from simply copying the profile from Windows Explorer vs. the COPY TO from SYSTEM PROPERTIES?
I am placed with doing this but do not understand, except for the...
Is it possible to make Windows 2000 Professional as a HOST to accept incoming RDP using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection?
If possible, is it the same port 3389 ?

Thanks for the reply.
Keeping in mind your note on the "restore" process, is there a way to have the "ciruclar log" feature use a total of 10GB of space before the log files over-write itself?
We have 10GB to spare, and this way, if we need to do a restore, I'm sure we will find a couple of...
We have an Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 running on Windows Server 2003.
I understand the Exchange Logs gets to build up and will only clear if there is a successful backup of the Information Store or some Exchange files.
Is there a place to "check mark" so that the Log files don't fill up or...
Thanks for the tips.
Investing in a second server will not be viable at this point.
The DNS / Active Directory problem does sound problematic.
Any other ideas on how I can configure the redundancy to continue web surfing with just one server ?

I realized when I restart my single Windows 2003 Server, all the clients lose connection to the internet immediately.
I use Cable Modem w/ a Firewall.
Is there a way to set things up so that clients can still retain the DNS to surf the internet while the server is down for repairs?

Try www.ultradns.com.
They can host your domain and forward your MX Record to your home Exchange (Email) Server.
I believe it's like $30 / year.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

Emiller25,
Locate your created batch file.
Right-click on the file and go to PROPERTIES.
Under the SECURITIES TAB, add the users name to it.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

Does it work if you have your new "working" drive on the first IDE cable and the broken drive in the second IDE cable?
Unplug all other drives.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

Do this:
1. Open up Microsoft Word.
2. FILE > OPEN
3. From the LOOK IN, browse to the folder you want to have a shortcut for and go inside the folder.
4. Next, choose TOOLS > ADD TO MY PLACES.
5. Your new shortcut will be to the left side as you like it.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

Problem solved!
Thanks to those of you insisting on the permissions.
Looks like everything was setup ok.
Only problem: The batch file itself has a SECURITY TAB.
For some reason, the AUTHENTICATED USERS are not in there. I added it with the READ & WRITE Permissions and now users are able to...
