I know how to block specific web sites but that does not help me.
First you must enable boot from SCSI in your bios.
The you must invoke the SCSI bios. This normally gets done at boot time. Look for a message that says press CTRL and another key.

Can you see the drive in DOS mode ( command prompt ) option.
try to format the drive from the command prompt by typing - format d: ( or whatever drive it is ). Once formatted copy some files to the drive in DOS mode. if all this works windows should be able to see it.
First see if you have a Virus. Use a BOOT disk and start in DOS mode. Run a scan on your HD to see if you have a virus.
If not then your windows needs to be re-installed.

It could also be a virus called SPACES which also messes up your anti virus software.

I had the same problem and tried for weeks to figure it out. In the end I upgrade my ME to XP and now all is well, well there are still some bugs in XP as well.

Delete all users. Then when asked to login press cancel. You will login as the default user. Install all the software you need. Then when you create the users all the installed software will be available to them. You can also delete the *.acl and *.pwl files in the windows directory
