Yes, I already tried the imaging of the flash card. And the imaged flash card works to boot another terminal, but not this one. And the good card from the working terminal won't boot this one. So it is definitely the workstation itself that is the problem, not the compact flash. I've even...
Just so you know, this is the same terminal that you had responded to me about in another post titled "Switch Terminal IDs" - here is the screenshot of the error I am receiving when trying to boot, it doesn't go any farther than this (screenshot...
Unfortunately no. I found some instructions that said to run the executable form WinCE, but the problem with this terminal is it doesn't boot at all; factory restore doesn't work; a working CF card from another working terminal won't boot this machine either. So I figured I could try to...
Thanks for the files - that is like my holy grail right now!
Can you help with any instructions? Is upgrading the BIOS as simple as extracting the files and copying them to a USB thumb drive? Or is there more to it?
Thanks again...
I have a hosed WS5 terminal, from all the research I have done it appears my only fix (or last attempt to fix without sending it somewhere for repair) is to reinstall the BIOS and other software from scratch using a USB flash drive.
The only links I can find on another post in this forum are...
Screenshot attached. Basically it sits at this screen. If I power it down and back on again, it ends up right here...http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx284/copscomputer/mao%20pics/boot-error_zps71506cb6.jpg
I realize this post is two months old, but since there was no response yet, and since I had the same problem when trying to use a system that had one terminal that wouldn't boot, I figured I would relate what I found.
If you haven't figured this out yet, you need to access the Configurator and...
Thanks for your reply. Yes, you are correct - it is an E7 system (sorry for not mentioning that).
I had already gotten past this point, I figured out the CAL thing and was able to get the one terminal operating on its own. I had to remove any references to the second terminal in the...
Is there a way to switch terminal IDs without reconfiguring the entire Micros system? It started out as two terminals, one was eventually taken out of service (worked fine, just wasn't used). Now the one that has been in use has problems, can't get it to boot at all into WinCE, it is just...
UPDATE: Micros terminals are WS5. I found that I really messed up the flash card, that's why it wasn't booting at all. I stumbled upon some instructions for factory restore from BIOS. Found the default password in another thread, the factory restore says it is happening, then the system...
Hi,
Trying to get a used MICROS terminal (WS4LX) running for a customer. Background is he bought two Micros terminals about four years ago, closed his restaurant after three years. He is now opening a new place but wants to use the "main" Micros terminal again, but doesn't want to pay Micros...
