tf1,
Unforetunately some of the laptops don't have integrated wireless - else that would be the way to go.
Thanks for the link though! I'll keep this one in mind should the need arise.
Sincerely,

Hey fellas,
I'm looking for the least expensive way to temporarily hook 4 laptop computers (Windows XP-based) to share one printer. The setup will only be used for one day at an outdoor booth (church event) so cost has to be minimal.
Of course, all laptops are USB compatible as is the printer...
I have a client that has a SB Live! (model CT4780) in his Dell desktop (running XP Pro) but cannot get any sound output no matter what source I try, whether it's playing mpg files from the HD, CDs in the CD-ROM, etc.
In my troubleshooting I've checked:
1) mixer settings are correct
2) used...
If you created the second XP Home disk from the copy you put on the hard-drive, copied from the original disk, then if there was a problem with the original/first disk that problem would have been duplicated as well.
Have you tried installing to a different PC to see if there is a problem with...
I agree with wolluf - buy a new drive!
I would recommend getting all your important data off the drive first, if possible. Can you burn your important files (pictures, music, movies, address books, etc) to CD or DVD? If so, do it. Or you could do it via an external USB HDD. Either way, try...
I have a client who has three printers (a Compaq A900, and two old Panasonic dot-matrix) connected to his PC via LNP1. The cabling (starting from the PC) goes from LNP1 to a manual switch. Switch position "A" routes to the Compaq A900, position "B" goes to dot-matrix #1, and position "C" goes...
Ok - I did a "scan for hardware change" and after doing this the OS automatically reordered the drives appropriately; to F: and G:. The problems continue however.
Could this be a simple driver issue?
I don't have the original installation disks that came with each drive but I can download...
Do you think that there might be a single common problem that is preventing the drives from functioning properly? Possibly a motherboard driver problem?
Also, here are some of the system's specs:
OS = Windows XP Pro w/ Service Pack 1
Processor(s)
Model : AMD Duron(tm) processor

Hi guys,
I have a computer that is experiencing some problems with two CD-type drives. One of the drives is a DvD drive (Pioneer 105) and the other is a CD burner. Both drives act as regular CD-ROMs fine (they read data); but the DvD drive doesn't play DvDs and the CD burner doesn't burn CD-Rs...
I've got a Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-105 drive that automatically ejects any DVD disk put into it. All other disk-types (CD-R, CD-RW, Audio, etc) work just fine. When I load a DVD disk, the drive doesn't even give me a green light to indicate it is even attempting to read the disk - it just ejects it...
