Hey... how? Isn't it when you double click O2ksr1a (an initially downloaded file), it scans the PC and directly install SR1? How can I download the whole file as is, 'cause I can split it, join, and install.

Is this possible? I have a win98SE with Office 2000 in one of my PC. Can I download the SR-1 service release from another PC with internet connection and install it in the PC without Internet?

We'll if I can't find the CD key there, it's okay. A P3 PC was given me by my office with 98SE. There are lots of stuff there that I don't need, and I want also a clean-install. Our office has no available tech yet so I initiated the hookup and perhaps the installation. They gave me the win98SE...

I have notes on these registry. How about in the uninstalled CD files? Can the CD key be retrieved from there? If eveer possible?

It's okay for the meantime but its adhesive will dry up in time and it will unwind by itself without you knowing it. Masking tapes will be much better in absence of electrical tape. But gush, electrical tapes is just a hardware away. And its cheap!!

We'll I'm finished reinstalling on top of win98SE. The MIE6 and DirectX were unchanged. But the patches were gone. And so with some manually modified reg entries... just for those who want to know.
