Well actually I have worked for several different ISP's over the past 7-8 years. Those ips's have always used a 3rd party email program such as Imail. The place I am working for now wants to just host domains. And since they have exchange and windows 2003 from their partner program with MS I...
Also, if the username and email address is different.. and I wanted to use an Email Gateway in front of my exchange server.. wouldn't it not work? Since most gateways use pop3 to authenticate.
Cause there is no way for the gateway to know that bob9 is associated with the email address...
Woops I meant "hosted there" not their lol.
Anyways.. I guess I should tell you what I am trying to do. I am wanting to host websites at our business. We already have exchange so we decided to use that. When someone sets up a domain they get xxx amount of emails.
We simply setup a new user in...
It just seems weird to tell someone that their email address is lets say bob@bobsdomain.com BUT their logon is going to be bobbobsdomain.
Usually with any ISP, you logon as your email address if your domain is hosted their.
It their no way around this?
Is it possible to use the persons email address to authenticate? For example, when he sets up outlook express he can enter name@domain.com instead of his AD username.
The problem I have is when I have 2 domains that want the same email. For example person1 wants info@domain1.com and person2...
Hello all. I have 2 really weird issues with my 3640 routers. They are acting as access servers with 2 CAS t1's comming in. They are stocked with 2 digital mica modem banks as well. The first problem I have is when I turn the routers on and it finds the T1's.. I used to get this before I...
Ok well, we called the phone company and they tell us that the price for PRI lines is $800 a month compared to $450 with the chan-T1 contracts we have right now. So we will probbably hold off on PRI for now.
I also had a few questions about my config. I am trying to go through it and tweak it...

What does end of life mean? You can still get smartnet contract for it and get support right?
Also I am a bit confused on the whole voice thing. What do you mean by voice gateway? I never really understood the whole VOIP thing.
Forgive my ignorance.
Hello all, we have decided to get rid of our (three) 3640 routers. We used all three for dial-in access. Each router had the max of 48 mica modems in them. Since the 3640's were always messing up and needed to be rebooted, we decided on getting another NAS.
My question is, what is the main...
What about if we have just bought a PIX. Should that come with some sort of access to Cisco's IOS's? Or will it only allow me to access the IOS's of the PIX?
