danomaniac- I believe you can set the static IP on the front panel of the printer, or you could download HP Jet Admin. HP Jet Admin allows you to do many things besides assigning IP's.

You could possibly have to change things on the client side. I know AD is supposed to be able to centrally manage everything, but this is microsoft were're talking about here. So once you change the client setting you could just push out a reg hack and everyone is happy. Good luck.
