Can anyone please help me with what type SCSI controller will work with the STK 9710? Is the library HVD or LVD or both? Will a 2930CU work? Thanks, hist

    Dissertation Help Appreciated.

Write a paper on why vendors never deliver on their promises and stick the sys admins with multiple issues that have to be defended. This can simply be explained by sales persons who don't know squat and managers who buy into it. You could title it "Reciprocal Idiocity" or "Exponential...

Encryption should do what you want it to. Check out Digital Persona's biometric scanner encryption. Plus it has a whole load of other cool stuff right at the tip of your finger....pun intended. :)

    win 2k printer installation

danomaniac- I believe you can set the static IP on the front panel of the printer, or you could download HP Jet Admin. HP Jet Admin allows you to do many things besides assigning IP's.

How do I KILL file Synchronization.... WE DON'T NEED IT

You could possibly have to change things on the client side. I know AD is supposed to be able to centrally manage everything, but this is microsoft were're talking about here. So once you change the client setting you could just push out a reg hack and everyone is happy. Good luck.

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

I already had a Forward lookup in DNS to the internal IP address. MieMie, I'm not sure how to resolve this issue. It's not that big of a deal though. "Scientists have proven that living actually causes death."

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

Update: adding the Name Server to the DHCP Scope options did not resolve my internal name lookup issue. Anyone? "Scientists have proven that living actually causes death."

Can't View website inside network, but can outside

I'm having the same issue. Check ou this thread: thread950-529858 Is this the same scenario (sort of)? Are you using DHCP? "Scientists have proven that living actually causes death."

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

I think I have it figured out. I need to add a Name Server in the Scope options for DHCP. I'll have to wait until I get home tonight to try it out though. I'm pretty sure this will work. Reason being: ipconfig /all shows the external (ISP) DNS servers where it should be showing only internal...

    Seagate Backup Exec

Are you saying that the job has been running for a while and you can't get it to stop? If so, you can stop the processes by doing this: Start>Run> drwtsn32 -p 1952 OK Start>Run> drwtsn32 -p 684 OK Exit (Close) BKUPEXEC Then Stop and Start all BKUPEXEC Services in Computer Management. I...

Win2000 and XP Machines Not using dhcp

I found that if you disable DHCP on the Lynksys things seem to work properly. That is of course if the server's DHCP is configured correctly. "Scientists have proven that living actually causes death."

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

Another day: As I was looking into the Event Viewer I noticed I had some DHCP errors on the client and Netlogon errors on the server. On the client I ran ipconfig /all and saw that the DHCP server was my router (I don't want this, I want the sever to act as DHCP. As I mentioned above, at first...

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

Next, I put the internal IP address and the registered domain name in the Host file in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc directory This resolved the website name. There's has to be another way. Anyone? "Scientists have proven that living actually causes death."

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

New issue: Now I can't resolve my website name from the client. (I can resolve the IP though) Argh!!!! "Scientists have proven that living actually causes death."

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

Ok, by adding Router and DNS Servers Scope options in DHCP, I was able to get DHCP to work on the client. There are so many Scope options, how do you learn what they all do? Also, I did not have to disable the router's DHCP service. :) "Scientists have proven that living actually causes...

Sorry, meant to add that no DNS server IP is listed in ipconfig as well. "Scientists have proven that living actually causes death."

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

One other thing, I just read this topic: thread950-528296 I set up my forwarder list but no luck. Still can't get out with DHCP enabled on client. One note, I did ipconfig /all and there is no default gateway address. Is this my problem? Where do I set it up on server? Remember, my gateway...

    DHCP, DNS, AD, Etc

Hey all, I know I have a lot of reading to do but I thought I would ask a few questions to get me started on the right track. Scenario: (W2K Server) -AD setup on server acting as DC. -DNS setup with (Linksys router) internal IP's, Forward and Reverse lookup zones configured -DHCP Scope setup...
