Odd situation just brought to my attention...
UserA sends email to a number of recipients, one of whom is UserB (cc:'d)
UserB notices that the FROM: field says UserB(UserA)
Just like I've typed it - the primary name is NOT the person whose mailbox sent the email, yet that person's name...
Still need help if anyone is monitoring this one; just about ready to rebuild server from scratch but that's a lot of work so hoping there's a knowledgeable soul willing to share.
After talking with Novell, we're thinking the issue lies with InstallShield since that seems to be what "starts"...
Trying to install GW client on MS 2003 Server but dble-clicking the setup.exe does nothing. The same files install fine on a WinXP desktop so files are OK. Logged in as Administrator and have Novell client already installed. Other applications install fine.
Thanks for any ideas,
jgiles
Now I'm puzzled (not uncommon!) The old GW 6.5.5 won't install either. Just for kicks I put in a design application and the install process began without a hitch. However, it stalls when trying to install either GW client application. Hourglass appears for 1 seconds or so then disappears -...
Trying to install GW 6.5.6 client on MS2003 server for use with Blackberry BES software. However, clicking on the setup.exe file does nothing! If I try to install on my WinXP desktop the setup process starts normally so the downloaded files are OK.
What about MS2003 Server is interfering...
Don't know what this means but I noticed the same thing when recently creating a new Windows user (for myself) on my PC. I had been using the Windows "administrator" user and a comma for multiple recipients.
Now if I log in to Windows as myself (the newly created user profile) only the Enter...
Xolotl,
Thanks for the response - your suggestions were valid. However, I had already set those things up. What I just discovered, though, (and what fixed the problem) was that in order to map to, explore, browse, etc... to the MS server the administrator account MUST HAVE A VALID Password...
Hello,
Our primary LAN server is running Netware 6.5; however, we recently added a Win2003 Server (std.) box for a couple of applications that require an MS O/S platform. All desktop PC's are on WinXP.
The application is installed on the MS box and runs fine. I now need to allow some folks...
Mystery solved...one of my tech's confessed. Symantec A/V wouldn't install the update because tech didn't have Netware access rights to a mapped home directory on the user PC. So he "reassigned" the N:drive to a local drive thinking then it might work. It not only didn't work but created...
Hello,
An odd situation developed after my technician brought a PC in for Windows update and for other routine maint. issues. We returned the PC to user and she noticed that the previously mapped network drive N:Accounting is now identified in Explorer as Local Disk(N:). It stills points to...
LawnBoy - thanks for your response. To clarify...these 6 folks already exist as Netware users, the State has mandated they move their data off our network and onto their own. I could leave their Netware accounts intact; however, how would the topology be put together? Obviously there must be...
First, just to clear up a possible thought on everyone's part - WHY are we doing things this way? We are a gaming establishment and the State has mandated that the "regulatory" department separate itself from the Operations network (my world). To maintain the separation they even hired outside...
Hello,
I feel a bit foolish for not knowing this but have been living in a very narrow Novell environment for many years. One of our departments is physically separating from the LAN by adding a Win2003 server that will hold their data and serve as their new LAN server. Wiring is in place so...
