DColcl i was never aware of this problem with outlook and exchange...nice of you to post THE SOLUTION...but it would be nice to know why??? if it was up to me i will do this..
reformat one PC...three partition...
1- on the first partition install win2000 with outlook 2003
2-on second partion...
Well it could be...to test install a second nic card...disable the onboard nic and try outlook...if successfull then you know what to do....if you fail again then it is most likely xp2 firewall
....
try this article...check your rpc binding order...
also make sure chache mod is not enabled when you first configure outlook 2003...
welll since we have no clue...also try enabling netbios oevr tcpip in your outlook clients tcpip settings and then
try netbios name of your exchange server to...

try this on all your exchange related directories(4 alltogether)...
every one should have basic and integraded authentication checked.....exchweb should also have annonymous checked...
NO TLS OR ANYTHING ELSE...
also you should have ssl enabled only on two virtual directoried exchange and...
Vince if i get you right your exchange is hosting multiple email domains and you would like all the emails destined for the two of them end up in a single mailbox...if this is true then you may have a few options..
a commercial antispam software will be able to do this for you..or you could try...
Messages to Exch2K3 from 5.5 leave the outbox but never arrive???
if this is corrrect then make sure you dont have SMART HOST
configured on your SMTP VIRTUAL SERVER...
IF the anser is no then also make sure you dont have DNS configured in your SMTP VIRTUAL SERVER
IF the answer is NO again then...
If they are "existing" users and you still have problem and this is happening on XP ....then try this
disable firewall on XP
or ADD outlook to the allowed applications
or reinstall ur nic cards driver again...
or uncheck the little box in your tcpip properties page next to TCPIP protocal and...
In ur exchange system manager create another virtual dirctory(mailbox).....under default domain choose deafultdomain.local
(.local must exist in ur recipient policy and it is most likely the primary smtp address assigned to ur catch-all mailbox)....
restart ur server and try again to see if u...
Try this on one of your users having problem with appointments ..start outlook with clearfreebusy switch
outlook.exe /clearfreebusy and see if your problem is sloved.
