If you don't mind spending about £600 try looking at Ontrack's PowerControls - restore the .edb from the necessary day then open PowerControls.
You can restore to a .pst or an active mailbox.

The easiest way is to re-create the ost...
Close outlook, search for *.ost & rename it
Re-start outlook & connect (or work online) then re-synchronise & hope for the best

Hi,
What OS is on the clients?
Presuming it is nt based:
1) Join a workgroup on the PC,
2) Delete the computer from the domain,
3) Reboot pc,
4) Re-join the domain.
This will re-create new computer accounts.
Re-installing the os on the bdc and pdc will not resolve this issue.

Hi all,
1) the maximum size for FAT is 4086MB (typo?)
:-)
2) You will be asking for trouble by having 1 big partition
I would have either a 2048MB or 4086MB FAT C drive & rest as D drive & install everything to D drive.

Hi Andrew,
I've had this problem before, I'll describe my situation & draw any conclusions:
Multiple servers, multiple mailboxes
Error you described when synch'ing to OST or exporting to .pst
Slight correlation to attachments (I.E. basic text e-mails went OK, those with attachments took a few...
Hi,
I suspect that the problem will be the address of the DL's.
What does the error message say (For once with m$ they can usually be deciphered)
As i recall, the address is in X400 format, which you will need to change before the import
Also, are the Dl's already set up?

Hi Chris,
There are a few issues here:
1) Changing from member server to BDC
Officially, you will need to rebuild...
However, search for upromote.exe this nifty little app (about $99) will change a server from member to BDC quickly and easily.
2) the easiest way to do this (as you need to...

The easiest way I can think of is to perform a little testing...
Stop your DHCP service & try to renew a DCHP lease (I.E. on win95, run winipcfg & elease all, then try to renew. On W2k run ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew)
If your pc cannot find a dhcp server then either there is no...
Hi,
If the archiving throws up nothing, check out the following
1) are you getting any errors in the event logs?
2) can you restart the services?
3) do all services start normally?
Dave
Hi,
No probs. That was about the same argument I had with those holding the purse strings.
Once I pointed out the benefits & time savings, they didn't really put up much of a fight.

Hi Yardyy,
<From Client>
The only way i've found is to add the dl to your contacts and then export your contacts folder.
(I.E from outlook)
<From Server>
