hp 4650 not collating

We have several Hp clj4650 here at our office and i have failed at all attempts to get them to collate.  I have tried all drivers ps and pcl5c.  (unable to get the printer to print multiple copies with the pcl6) I have ensured that the collate check box in the print dialog box is checked. One thing I did notice is in the printers properties, under printing preferences, in the advanced tab you can change the output. if you check collate and apply them the changes do not stick.  on the have been working on this off and on any help is greatly appreciated
