With the recent Tek-Tips Forum reorganization, it seems the FAQ I posted about Adding and Using Flash and Hard Drive PJL Resident TrueType Fonts on HP PCL 5 Printers is no longer available at the link posted in the previous message.
So, here is a link to an off-site .pdf copy of that note.
Adding and Storing New TrueType fonts on a LaserJet's Storage Medium
In the future, look for an update which will include using the 'PRET' tool's 'put' and 'get' commands to interact with the PCL font and macro storage devices on some PCL printers. It makes the process much, much quicker, I've found, although Web JetAdmin is still required to do the TT font conversion to whatever 'proprietary' format is used in the PCL printer's firmware. The update will also discuss some conventions to use when manually constructing the required 'pclResourceFile', which associates font attribute sequences with stored fonts.
