Two HTML pages in one Perl CGI

Two HTML pages in one Perl CGI

Two HTML pages in one Perl CGI

Hi !

I have a CGI program in Perl that shows a HTML page with an animated GIF in it.

Here is the code :

    print "<HTML>";
    print "<HEAD>";
    print " <TITLE>Transfert !!</TITLE>";
    print "</HEAD>";
    print "<BODY BACKGROUND=\"../Images/fondtpv.jpg\" NOSCROLL  SCROLLING=\"no\" BGCOLOR=\"#000000\" TEXT=\"#FFFFFF\">";
    print "<DIV style='position:absolute; left:350; top:250; z-index:1'>";
    print " <img src='../Images/uninstantb.gif' height='117' width='325' border='0'>";
    print "</DIV>";
    print "</BODY>";
    print "</HTML>";

While this page is displayed some perl statments are running.
When they finish I display another HTML page that says "transfer complete redirecting you to main menu"

Here is the code :

    print "<HTML>";
    print "<HEAD>";
    print "<META http-equiv=\"Refresh\" content=\"15; URL=../router_exp_menu.html\">";
    print "</HEAD>";
    print "<BODY BACKGROUND=\"../Images/fondtpv.jpg\" BGCOLOR=\"#000000\" TEXT=\"#FFFFFF\">";
    print "<BR><BR><BR><BR>";
    print "<H2><B><CENTER><FONT SIZE=5 COLOR=\"#880080\">Le transfert c'est terminé avec succès !!!</FONT><BR><BR><BR><FONT SIZE=5
COLOR=\"#808080\">Vous êtes maintenant en cours de transfert vers la page principale des outils pour les routers</FONT><BR><BR><BR>
    print "<H3><B><CENTER><FONT SIZE=5 COLOR=\"#880080\">Un instant S.V.P. ! </FONT><BR><BR><BR></CENTER></H3>";
    print "</BODY>";
    print "</HTML>";

My problem is that the animated GIF still show in the second page even though it's not in the code, WHY ?

RE: Two HTML pages in one Perl CGI

It's my understanding that you cannot display more than one HTML page in a Perl script.  So, it looks like what's really happening is that the second page you're sending is simply being added to the first page.  Resending HTML, HEAD, and so forth does not start another page.
