Internal Error in Web Component Server Connector

Internal Error in Web Component Server Connector

Internal Error in Web Component Server Connector

(OP)
Lawson 8
CE 9
Windows 2000

The system had been working fine for months until
mid-afternoon today.

Anyone seen this error?

I'm not sure if this is the result of changing the logonform.csp, or an upgrade to the Lawson server as they both occured around the same time, but resetting the logonform to the original doesn't resolve.

Error in the event log:

The description for Event ID ( 34400 ) in Source ( Crystal_WebConnector ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: assert failure in file (Y:\backend\WebAppServer\wsconnector\src\isapi\workerpool.cpp) at line 71.  (false : Request failed with code 5 and error message )..

There isn't a mapped y:\backend...

But I'm not sure if this error is passed by another box, or???

All help appreciated.

RE: Internal Error in Web Component Server Connector

Error code 5 is an authentication error. Has the account that the WCS uses changed? or some other network change maybe?

When exactly do you get this error?
What is the server architecture? (single W2K or clustered)
Where is the web server in all of this?
Have any Windows SP been applied?
Did a good old reboot do any good (I always like a reboot).

I ignore the Y:\backend stuff - It seems to have no bearing on anything!

Thanks for the response, Kingfisher, but I resolved by creating a new virtual server as I discovered that the drive was out of space (new contract, new configurations!).

This was a very obscure error, and since they have been creating and dropping servers all week, I wanted nothing to do with any of it.

I'm creating a new post in which I am seeking help with URL pass through using CE 9 and eportfolio to launch specific reports.

I assume that I'll need to write//modify a custom logon.csp.

RE: Internal Error in Web Component Server Connector

Running CE 10 on W2K Server (Dual CPU and Dual NIC). I have two of these servers with full CE10 installs clustered together.

The issue I have is users are trying to view a scheduled instance of a report which is in Excel Data Only format. The filesize of this report is 16MB (on the FRS). Whenever the user tries to view this report they get the following error:

"Internal Error in Web Component Server Connector
An internal error occurred preventing this request from completing successfully. If this error continues, please contact the system administrator."

When I look at the Windows event log this I see two errors:

Event Type:    Error
Event Source:    Crystal_WebConnector
Event Category:    (15)
Event ID:    34400
Date:        2/24/2005
Time:        8:38:33 AM

Computer:    EXPCRNT2
Description:

The following information is part of the event: assert failure in file (Y:\backend\WebAppServer\wsconnector\src\isapi\workerpool.cpp) at line 94.  (false : Request failed with code 2 and error message )..

AND

Event Type:    Error
Event Source:    Crystal_WebConnector
Event Category:    (15)

Event ID:    34400

Description:

The following information is part of the event: Transport connectivity error: Failed to negotiate connection with SOCKS Server number -. Reason: error number WSAENOBUFS.

We are not using SOCKS so I am not sure where this second error is coming from. Does anyone have a clue as to what could be preventing the user from being able to view the report? I am at a complete loss on this one.
