How can I open an Excel 97 password protected file if I have forgotten the password?

RE: Excel 97 Password

There's freeware out there, not sure how it works. Try cnet.downloads.com for the download.

RE: Excel 97 Password

If you are talking about a worksheet in a workbook that is protected:

Highlight the whole sheet by clicking on the upper left cornor. Press Ctl-C to copy the sheet. Insert a blank sheet if you don't already have one in the workbook. Click on cell A1 in the blank sheet. Press Ctl-V to paste the copied sheet. You should now have an unporotected version of the original sheet.
