HELP with MSWORD97 fields (text X figures X tables)

(OP)
mmm Mar 11, 2000
Hello,

I've got a question for Word97 Experts :

How do I create a number field in the Text Body that is LINKED to a PARTICULAR FIgure caption number? I mean , whenever that caption number is updated due to whatever reason, this numeric field in the Text is automatically updated to the new figure number so the TEXT NUMBER is EXACTLY the SAME as the FIGURE CAPTION NUMBER.

Thank you

MMM (marrecao@yahoo.com)

RE: HELP with MSWORD97 fields (text X figures X tables)

Use the Insert-Caption command to create autonumbers (and maybe captions) for your pictures.

Then, use (in the text where you want to cross-reference the Figure number) the Insert-Cross Ref, and select Figure.
