Unattended Shutdown

Got a quick question about unattended shutdown.

I've noticed that when I shutdown my Win2k Server manually, it usually takes about 2-3 minutes for it shutdown and turn off.

However, using the built-in Windows 2000 UPS plug-in, when the UPS shuts the machine down at low battery condition, it does it very quickly, as in maybe 5-10 seconds.

Is this shutdown even clean? Anyone know the difference?
