Caller ID

Caller ID

Caller ID

(OP)
Just installed a IP412 with 2 PRI T1's, one local and one long distance. Caller id works with the numbers comming over the local T but not over the LD T. Only # comming over the LD T is an 800#. The display shows the word "Outside" which I assumne is the default when no or unknown digits are recieved. The provider is telling us caller ID is enabled. Anything I should look for....both T's are programmed the same. Or am I getting a snow job from the provider (Verizon).
Thanks
gq

RE: Caller ID

There are no settings for incoming CLI to be presented to the IPO, so if the CLI is being presented (which i suspect it is not despite waht the network providor states) it will be shown. do check the nuber of digits that they are sendingso that you place the correct number in the ic call field.

On past experiance we have found that network providors in the UK noramlly BT but also NTL often lie when you ring and complain that CLI is not being shown, and hey presto as if by magic 30 mins later it suddenly works!

If sendin out CLI then this can be achieved on a per user or sytem wide basis by inseting on the short code ? . dial either .w to withold the CLI or .s01273xx the correct umber that you wish to show.

hope this helps

RE: Caller ID

BT & NTL do not lie, they are merely mistaken, hem hem.

Also useres with DDI sould automaticaly send CLI unless this is overwritedn as above. on various occasions this has not worked & it has been quite a struggle to get BT to realise that it is there fault

BT " the customers equipment needs to send the required CLI"
ME " It is but you are ignoring it!"

RE: Caller ID

Thanks, yea I changed the dial 9 short codes to send the LDN to the called party. I'm not getting CLI when my customer is called over there LD T1. I didn't think there would be any programing on my part other than to direct the call via the incomming call route.
