Schedular - Agent

Running SC 3.0 sp5

We are experiencing very very low performance, and I have been investigating all possibilites. In the system status screen, under "System Monitor", I have discovered the following:

CPU%: 23%

This seems extremely high!

Can anyone explain to me what this AGENT is, and is it required? I'm sure that by "Killing" the process, I will release CPU time and thus increase the performance.

If this has nothing to do with the performance...any suggestions

RE: Schedular - Agent

check you agents ... possible the oob agents are still running .... in other case, check the queries... use the parameter debugdbquery:999 and than check the log file ( there is a tool from www.sandreas.de available )for non keyed queries
