Communicating Perl with Oracle 8i

Communicating Perl with Oracle 8i

Communicating Perl with Oracle 8i

(OP)
Do you have a recipe of requirements to implement communication between Perl and Oracle8i?

We have already compiled DBI and DBD, but the last one generated an error:

You must install a Solaris patch to run this version of the Java runtime.

RE: Communicating Perl with Oracle 8i

I am not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I have tried my best to find some links on the Internet that can help.

Here is one that I think is good, it comes from perl.com:
http://www.perl.com/pub/1999/10/DBI.html

That may help, I am not sure.
It doesn't hurt go give it a try.

Hope this helps,

RE: Communicating Perl with Oracle 8i

I don't know the answer to that one, but I would suggest that since you haven't heard from anyone on this list with a definitive answer, you might want to try asking your question on the Perl DBI mailing list - you can find a link to it from the main Perl DBI web page at

 http://www.symbolstone.org/technology/perl/DBI/

But before asking the list, check the archives for  that list - find that link at the bottom of the same page - you can try searching for something like "Solaris and MySQL" to see if anyone else has come across that same problem.

Hope this helps.
