I am having trouble making perl run on my linux box. I went to the linux forum, and it's been two weeks of back & forth. no help there. please check it out, its this thread

EC, first thing i would try, is to type the following..


'type perl'

this will tell you the location of the perl program, if it is installed.
If the perl comes up with an answer, then it's installed and maybe things arn't configured correctly, or maybe even you have not placed the correct address on the top line of your perl programs.
Please give me a more indepth view of your problem ie OS type (slackware, RH, whatever) and where you attained your perl version.

Have you tried your distribution's package manager?  Do you have an older version of Perl installed already?
