Automatic answering when picking up receiver

Automatic answering when picking up receiver

Automatic answering when picking up receiver

(OP)
Hello,

I've inherited a Nortel BCM50 system and am trying to change some settings. Found a lot of info online but this has me stumped. We have two lines and about 10 extensions. On some of the extensions, if either line rings, you simply pick up the received to answer. On others, you have to manually select the line you are answering first. What setting would I need to change to enable (or disable) the automatic answering feature?

Thanks!

RE: Automatic answering when picking up receiver

Only phones that have lines programmed to ring will work that way.
If they don't ring then the phone (handset lift) wont know what line to answer.

Thanks! I was able to figure out what to change to get that extension to ring by looking at the settings for one of the other extensions.
