Legacy Avaya paging

Legacy Avaya paging

Legacy Avaya paging

In older TDM Avaya pbx's, what are the properties of an auxiliary trunk card that it's used for paging instead of a trunk card?
The "paging loudspeaker" screen has no typical trunk configuration.
What causes a voice page to interrupt the music? Is that a feature of the trunk, or the interfaces to the paging equipment? For comparison,
Rolm trunks can be defined as cut-through.
We have an Avaya G3csiV6 where since the music system was replaced a voice page doesn't cut through the music any more.
We provide remote support so I don't know exactly what's installed. This site used to be local to me but I don't exactly recall the interfaces.
I know there's a Lucent Universal Coupler and a paging access device, a small box probably 4" square, with screw terminals inside, brand unknown.
I'm not looking for a solution specific to this location as much as an understanding of how call supervision occurs with paging.
The audio tech couldn't figure it out and didn't have a punch tool for us to try different ports and so on.
