Micros Simphony - Create new Check

Micros Simphony - Create new Check

Micros Simphony - Create new Check

(OP)
Hello,

Micros Simphony version 18.2.5 is what I'm using.
I'm new to this and need to create a new check in Simphony without using the "Transaction Service APIs" because it requires a certificate, so I'm looking for a different way to do it, such as a dll function or something similar.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Micros Simphony - Create new Check

What do you mean it requires a certificate?

The Transaction Services web service is pre-installed on each workstation, but it needs a license to be active.

so we need another way to implement the same operation ("Create a guest check", "Add one or more items to any open guest check").

RE: Micros Simphony - Create new Check

The Transaction Services Gen 1 will work regardless of whether you have a license or not. However if you use it without a license then you will be in breach of Oracles policies.
Its up to you if you want to take the risk or not.

You can do what you want with an Extension Application or SIM Script, however doing it this way means the actions will be visibly shown on the touchscreen display on the workstation that you run it on.
In my opinion it is not advisable as this will have 2 negative implications.

1. It means you will need to dedicate a physical workstation to perform your automated functions and staff wont be able to use this workstation at the same time.
2. It is error prone as you will need to consider error handling for every error or display prompt that the workstation is likely to show.
