Upgrade cost????

Upgrade cost????

Upgrade cost????

I have a upgrade price cost question.... if I’m at a R9.1 and want to go to R11, we are told that we have to purchase ALL new licenses again???? Is that correct?!?!?! I already paid for the licensing I have the first time I bought the system! Now Avaya is telling me I have to repurchase theses licenses in order to upgrade to R11?

Is this right?

RE: Upgrade cost????

Yes, UNLESS you have IP Office Support Services (IPOSS)

RE: Upgrade cost????

Yes and no.

You have to buy migragtion licenses for each license which are a lot cheaper than 'new' licenses.

RE: Upgrade cost????

Well, yes and no.
You can do an upgrade, and you'll pay a cost for migrating the licenses, but they are cheaper than new ones.

Which does kinda suck. They changed it late last year I think. It used to just be the cost of the essential/vmpro migration (if you didn't have iposs), but now they charge for ALL licenses.
I have a customer that has hundreds of ip endpoint licenses and they missed the upgrade cutoff date and it is a pricey upgrade.

That being said, I've heard of some people buying IPOSS, then waiting a couple months, and then doing an entitled upgrade for free (sans the cost of the IPOSS). If you can a BP that will do that (many won't), then you'll probably be good.

I used to be an ACE. Now I'm just an Arse.

RE: Upgrade cost????

But then in the old days a customer with only 2 IP endpoint licenses did pay the same as a 5000+ user system with VM pr, sip channels and all the stuff.

So they made it a bit more fair now.

RE: Upgrade cost????

IPOSS can be applied to any version of IPO? for example 9.0 , 9.1 etc?

RE: Upgrade cost????

What version are people upgrading to nowadays? 11.1.2 and using the 11.1.1 bin file for the 30B module?
