So a friend of mine has a few of these IP phones and would like them to be setup in different locations. Like one in his warehouse, one in his apartment and one in his Finca. All in Colombia. From what I have been reading about these phones they seem to be more for an office environment and they seem to need a some sort of "server" and a "switch"? I think that he thinks that he bought a stand-alone IP phone but from my research I don't think that is the case.

You are correct. They are not stand alone phones but require a call server and data.

That is what I thought from reading some of the installation documents. I don't think he knew what he was buying.
