Avaya AVG - VPN SSL Gateway

Avaya AVG - VPN SSL Gateway

Avaya AVG - VPN SSL Gateway

Does anyone know if it is for Avaya use only (IPOSS) or for anyone who needs to manage a secure IPO network?

thread940-1701814: SSL VPN

RE: Avaya AVG - VPN SSL Gateway

Yes, its a product you can buy and use for access to your customers Avaya systems. Suspect that it costs a fair bit though.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

RE: Avaya AVG - VPN SSL Gateway

AVG comes with 50 concurrent SSL VPN connections and is available for download on the Avaya Support website. Considering the SSL connection can be activated and deactivated via a user dialable Short Code, it could be possible to setup a VPN connection on an as needed bases. Thus leaving room for the "always on" connections for larger paying maintenance customers to help recuperate the cost of additional SSL VPN connections as needed.

Also, the OVA version could be installed on a VMware viewer and in a matter of minutes be up and running to try without investing in a dedicated server.

From the Avaya IP Office Knowledgebase website:

"Separate from the IPOSS offer, partners have the option to leverage the SSL VPN client delivered in IP Office R8.1, in combination with the Avaya VPN gateway (AVG) solution, to create their own SSL VPN infrastructure. This document provides information and procedures to assist those Avaya partners who want to establish their own SSL VPN solution for remote access, as part of their maintenance support to their customers.

The partner configured SSL VPN solution is supported on Standard Edition and Server Edition IP Office systems."
