Error 47 in program SOWDAA at line 7060

Error 47 in program SOWDAA at line 7060

(OP)
I have a SO that will not allow me to do anything with it. I can't remove it, change it, look at the details of the order.  Since I've had this issue I haven't been able to close prior months.

I get these errors as well as:

Error 47 in program SOWDAD at line 10080
Error 47 in program SOWISC at line 10080

RE: Error 47 in program SOWDAA at line 7060

Check out Resolution ID: 402055 on Sage's KB.

Have you done any rebuilds on your SO files?

I am working with an older version without support.
Version 5.1.2600.5512

I'm not sure what you mean when you say rebuilds?

I've had the set up string be out of sync once before, I called for support, less than a 5 minutes walk through to fix it and they sent me a NICE bill to follow.

Sorry version of Mas 90 that I'm working with is 3.71, the other is the verision of XP.

RE: Error 47 in program SOWDAA at line 7060

Here is the resolution Dawn was talking about:

Error 47 SOWDAD 10080, in Sales Order Entry
Entry Type: Informational

Product: Sage MAS 90 ERP, Sage MAS 200 ERP, Sage MAS 200 ERP - SQL Server Edition

Application: Sales Order

Versions Reported: All Versions

Subject:
Error 47 SOWDAD 10080, in Sales Order Entry

Possible Resolution:
Analyze and Relink SO2 and Rebuild Sales Order Sort Files

Note:  Use caution when working with repair utilities. Always make a backup first. If necessary, seek the assistance of a qualified Sage Software business partner or Customer Support analyst.

Open Library Master / Repair / Analyze and Relink Line Files
Select Sales Order for the application and the company code with the error
From the list of files, select SO2xxx - Sales Order Entry Detail File (where xxx = company code)
Click 'Proceed' and 'Yes' to "Do you want to save the originals?"
Print the Error Log.
Note: Review the Error Log for any message of "Link Error in Header Record: <S/O Number>".  Any such Sales Orders should be reviewed in Sales Order Entry to see if all the line items at still on the sales order.
Open Library Master / Repair / Rebuild Application Sort Files
Select Sales Order for the application and the company code with the error
Click 'Rebuild' and answer 'Yes' to "Would you like to recalculate open sales order quantities in the Inventory Masterfile also?"

Randica you will need to do something soon about the level of MAS you are on or it will cost you a lot of money in the long run.  I am assuming that you have chosen to not pay your yearly maintenance which entitles you to upgrades. In a very short period of time all support for v3.71 will end and you will not be able to get answers to error messages. Your only resolution will be to get current on your support (Sage has programs now and then that give you a price break) or go with another accounting package (which will be a whole lotta money). Basically life with your accounting program will just get more expensive the longer you delay doing something.

RE: Error 47 in program SOWDAA at line 7060

3.71 is still supported by Sage unless you mean that you are not current on your actual maintenance.

If you are current on regular maintenance you could get a phone support plan directly with Sage. The downside is that you need to pay $1,500 in advance for a year's worth of support.  The upside is that you can call all you want within that year's worth of time.

Another option for support would be to see if you can set up a recurring schedule for support items and items you want to accomplish. The plus side is that you can budget for it.  The downside is if your reseller doesn't offer good support or they are not willing to go that route. It wouldn't also work in case of emergencies or error messages you need resolved right away.  (I'm not sure what you meant by "nice bill" for a 5-minute call.)

Another option is to look for another reseller.  There are many out there that support older versions.  One way would be to call Sage sales dept and ask them to refer you to another reseller around you if you prefer local support. The other option is to contract with a good reseller located anywhere, for ocassional questions and support. If you don't mind someone face-to-face, this can be a good option for saving money and yet still getting quick support. For example I have a number of clients in other states that I have never met in person at all.  They just call or email when they need help or want to do something new (e.g. create a report, etc.)

I hope that helps.

{3.71 is still supported by Sage} - Yes it is Dawn for not for long. Sage is trying to end support for it. The current release is v4.30 with v4.40 due out next year. We are talking about a differnce of 5 release levels.
